For decades, Mommsen-Eck has been one of the well-known landmarks of Berlin’s City West. For many, it served as a café, a meeting place, a living room, and an integral part of the Charlottenburg way of life. Generations of Berliners have enjoyed their morning coffee here, met up with friends, or wound down the evening.
With the opening of the Théodor Brasserie, this history is being gently continued. The character of the establishment remains intact, while simultaneously creating a new venue for contemporary indulgence and modern brasserie culture.
The name, too, bears a connection to the history of the place: Théodor refers to Theodor Mommsen—the street’s namesake—and, at the same time, to Theo, Yoram Roth’s youngest son.
In this way, Théodor bridges the past and the present—rooted in Charlottenburg and open to new stories.
